Horses Galore
When asked about our area, most folks mention Horse Country. Tryon has a long history of equestrian pursuits - from the first Blockhouse Steeplechase held in 1946 to the nearly year-round horse events held at the Foothills Equestrian Nature Center. But you need not be a 'horse person' to enjoy the beauty of the green pastures surrounding the many horse estates outside of Tryon, or to marvel at the amazing union of horse and rider during a competition. So make some time on your visit to horse around.
